This page explains what Crease collects, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and your choices.
In short
- We collect what's needed to log you in, save your matches and show live scores.
- We don't sell your data.
- Your mobile number is never shown to other users.
- Scorecards and tournaments are public on this website, with players' names. Profiles, photos and numbers are not.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. This website has none.
- You can delete your account any time.
1. Who we are
Crease is a cricket scoring app for Android and iPhone, and this website, creasesports.in. "Crease", "we" and "us" mean the team that runs them, in India.
For anything about your data, email creasesport@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
When you log in
- Mobile number, if you log in with your number.
- Password, if you create one. It's saved only in scrambled (hashed) form. Nobody at Crease can read it.
- Login codes. We send a 6-digit code by SMS, or a login link on WhatsApp if you pick that. We keep a record of each request (the number and the time) to stop misuse.
- Google or Apple login: the name, email address and account ID of that account. With Apple you can hide your email. Then we only get a private relay address from Apple.
You can also use Crease without logging in. Your matches then stay on your phone only.
Your profile
- Name, gender, city, playing role, batting style and bowling style.
- A profile photo, if you add one.
- Your player code, which friends can use to add you to a team.
What you add in the app
- Teams, squads, and players you add. For a player, that's their name and details, and their mobile number if you enter it.
- Matches: the toss, every ball, wickets, extras, where each shot went (for wagon wheels), scorecards and commentary.
- Tournaments: fixtures, groups, points tables, knockouts and player auctions.
- Photos and logos for teams and tournaments.
- The players and tournaments you follow.
Messages to us
If you use Contact us, Rate us or Report, we get what you write, the rating or topic you pick, any contact details you choose to add, your account ID and the app version.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your precise location, contacts, SMS messages, call history, or payment details (Crease is free). The app has no analytics or crash-report tools.
3. Phone permissions
- Internet: to log in, save matches and show live scores.
- Camera and photos: only when you choose to take or pick a photo for a profile, team or tournament. Only the picture you pick is uploaded.
- Advertising ID (Android): used by Google's ads. See "Ads" below.
Crease doesn't ask for location, contacts or microphone. On iPhone it doesn't ask to track you across other apps.
4. How we use your data
- To log you in and keep you logged in.
- To save your matches, teams and tournaments, and bring them back on a new phone.
- To show live scores to people who follow a match, team, player or tournament.
- To build career stats, wagon wheels, graphs and points tables.
- To link a player to the right person, by mobile number or player code.
- To answer your messages and check reports of rule-breaking.
- To stop misuse, for example too many login codes for one number.
- To show ads, which keep Crease free.
We don't sell your data. We don't send marketing SMS or emails.
5. Who can see it
- Logged-in Crease users can see player profiles (name, photo, gender, city, role and playing styles), teams, matches, scorecards, stats, tournaments, auctions, and team and tournament photos.
- Anyone on this website can see matches and tournaments: team names, scores, results, the ground, fixtures and points tables, and on scorecards and tournament stats, players' names with their runs, balls, wickets and how they got out. The website never shows player photos, cities, mobile numbers or profiles.
- Your mobile number is never shown to other users. If someone adds you as a player with your number, they typed it in themselves.
- Your password, login email, follows and messages to us are not shown to other users.
- Your player code works only if you share it.
- If you log in on this website with a code from the app, only you see your name and your matches there.
6. Services we use
These companies help run Crease. Each gets only what it needs, and has its own privacy policy.
- Supabase: our database, login and photo storage. Your account and everything you add in the app is stored with Supabase.
- Message Central: sends the SMS login code. It gets your mobile number and the code.
- Meta (WhatsApp): only if you log in with WhatsApp. It delivers the login message.
- Google: Sign in with Google (if you use it), ads from AdMob, the ad consent form, and Google Play.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple (if you use it) and the App Store.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website.
We may also share data if the law requires it, for example a court order, or to protect people from harm.
7. Ads
The app shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your phone's advertising ID, an approximate location from your IP address, and how you interact with ads. See how Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID: Settings → Google → Ads.
- On iPhone, Crease doesn't ask to track you, so ads don't use Apple's advertising identifier.
- In the EU, UK and some other places, Crease asks for your consent first. You can change it any time in About us → Ad privacy choices.
This website has no ads.
8. Where and how we keep it safe
- Data is stored on Supabase's servers, which may be outside India.
- Everything between the app and our servers is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Access rules on the database let each person change only their own profile and what they created.
- Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
No system is perfectly safe. If you notice anything wrong, email us.
9. How long we keep it
- Your account and profile: until you delete your account.
- Login codes: each code stops working after 10 minutes. The records of code requests are deleted with your account.
- Messages to us: deleted with your account.
- Website logins: a code from the app works once, for 10 minutes. A browser stays logged in until you log out; a login not used for 60 days stops working and is deleted.
- Matches, teams and tournaments: kept as long as Crease runs, because other players' scorecards, stats and points tables need them. After you delete your account you show in them as "Deleted player".
- Scorecards and tournaments on this website: as long as the match is on Crease. The home page lists live matches for up to 6 hours and results for 3 days.
10. Data on your phone
Crease saves your matches, teams, settings and a copy of what you follow on your phone, so scoring works without internet. If you block a player, team or tournament, that's saved only on your phone. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes all of it from the phone. It doesn't delete your account.
11. Your choices and rights
- See and correct: edit your profile in the app any time.
- Delete: delete your account in the app or by email. See Delete account.
- Get a copy: email us for a copy of your profile data.
- Ads: change your ad choices or reset your advertising ID (see "Ads").
- Permissions: turn off camera or photo access in your phone's settings.
- Complaints: email creasesport@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy". We reply within 7 days.
12. Children
Crease is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you're under 18, use Crease only with your parent's or guardian's permission. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it. Players' names show on public scorecards. A parent or guardian can email us to have a child's name removed from them.
13. This website
This website has no ads, no cookies and no analytics. To show the page, Cloudflare (our host) handles the usual web request details, such as your IP address, and fonts load from Google Fonts. The scores, scorecards and tournaments come straight from Crease's database and include only the details listed in "Who can see it".
You can log in here with a code from the app (Menu → Log in to website) to see your matches and the matches of the players and tournaments you follow. Your browser then keeps a sign-in key in its storage (not a cookie) so you stay logged in, and we keep a scrambled copy of it with the date it was last used. Log out on the website, or tap "Log out of the website" in the app, to end it.
14. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For big changes, we'll also say so in the app or on this website.
15. Contact
Email creasesport@gmail.com. We reply within 7 days.
